Emma Watson shows how a good posture is related to confidence and happiness. The popular British actor from the Harry Potter films is also a role model for teenage girls in how sport is related to physical self-esteem.
Emma Watson believes sweating is healthy and is annoyed by those girls her age who refrain from playing sport because of this.Emma Watson sport
Emma says, "I am such a feminist on this. It drives me nuts when friends say, We can't continue because sport gives you muscles and it's so unattractive, and you get sweaty. For some reason girls seem to think it is unfeminine and they worry about being 'pretty'. But I feel the most pretty when I come off the pitch after a hockey game and I have got pink cheeks and bright eyes. Sport really makes me feel good about myself."
Emma Watson loves to play field-hockey, with a passion, for she says, "I'm really competitive. Field hockey is my strongest sport, and if I lose a game, I take a long, hot bath and moan about it." Below Emma Watson playing for the Rover Sports Oxford hockey team, wearing shin-guards:
Emma has been playing sport since childhood and apart from field-hockey, enjoys net ball, and golf. And now that she's turned 18 and has left school, her father Chris got her interested in fishing. Watson now makes her own flies and is donating one of her Grey Wulffs - that's a bushy, high-floating fly - to raise money for the Wild Trout Trust, which will go under the online "eBay" hammer on April 9. The trust hopes it will make at least £150 for them.
Emma also made it to the list of FHM 100 Sexiest Women list for 2007. "That is the weirdest thing ever and they put some kind of crude comment like, She is one of those sporty types - you would have to hold her gym shorts for her, or something. I was like, Good God! But I suppose it is a compliment for me and Hermione."
Her love for sport also extends into dating and boys: "I'm not really into any particular type, but I do like guys who are into sport and love it when they speak two or three different languages."Emma Watson diet
Emma Watson is naturally slim, but as a feminist she has strong views on eating disorders and the obsession with size zero. "I am lucky that I stay the same weight. There are so many girls at my school who suffer from eating disorders. There is so much pressure on girls our age to be smart and pretty and funny and skinny - they have to be everything. I definitely know what that pressure is like but my philosophy is to eat what you like and be healthy and take exercise."
Her father owns a vineyard at Chablis in France where Emma spent some of her childhood and consequently: "I love Spanish and French food. I like the antipasto massimo in Carluccio's too. All those hams and salamis and sundried tomatoes and French beans - they're lovely."Emma Watson drinking alcohol
Sadly Emma isn't much of a teen role model because of her experiments in drinking alcohol. There are plenty of pictures like these on the Internet showing Emma visiting clubs and bars, or drinking alcopops and beer with her friends:

The first photo above shows her at 16 drinking Coronoa Beer. Emma says, "You are careful not to do it in the public eye. You have your first cigarette or first glass of alcohol in a safe environment with your close friends - or you could be foolish and choose to do it in a London nightclub."
She points out that having spent the first five years of her life in France she had her first watered-down wine when she was about three. When told by the Daily Mail about the alcohol age limit being 21 in the US Emma burst out, "What is that about? You can go to war for your country but you can't have a beer to celebrate? It's mad. I much prefer the European way in which alcohol is naturally introduced into family life."
While the UK also has a legal age for drinking, teenagers can have alcohol in the presence of an adult who has bought the drink for them.
Surprisingly Emma Watson never drinks tea or coffee. At age 17 Emma was spotted at the Castel Plage hotel with teen rugby player Tom Ducker, drinking expensive Veuve Clicquot Champagne and eating lobster. Drinking alcohol in a controlled manner with friends is all right, but in the long run it is not good for women. Emma is clear about how she would handle the other pitfall for celebrities: drugs. "To be honest, I'd be too frightened to take drugs. I have enough in my life without looking for something else, and I hope that will always be the case."

Alcohol is not bad for women, unless in large quantities. A glass of red wine a day is recomended by many respected Doctors.
I agree that Emma Watson is a great role model. As for the drinking, it is understandable with her being a teenager and growing up in the 21st century. Even so alcohol is meant to be enjoyed in moderation (which I believe she does). She is totally gorgeous and I think she is the perfect girl for teenagers to look up to. I look up to her myself.
Emma Watson is one of the best role models for teenage girls. As a teenage girl in this day and age i think there should be more role models like Emma. Every teenager tries alcohol at some point so i can't see why your making a mountain out of a mole hill. It's not like she's going out every night and getting wasted. SO be realistic.
the stupidest thing- "she isn't a good role model because she drinks alcohol". It is perfectly natural for us here in Europe to drink and take pleasure in that, and as opposed to my American friends, we never get so trashed over here, that we behave inappropriately or can't find the way home, or pass out on the street and have to be picked up by the paramedics!!! THAT is a true role-model in the alcohol issue: how to not be a young (and then older) alcoholic!!
look dumbass whoever wrote the article is right: nothing, absolutely nothing comes good from alcohol and is the sole reason for a lot of the crap that ruins families and societies. Emma's real pretty, but I'd want my kids to stay the hell away from alochol.
Emma Watson is Georgous and i aagree about the alcohol and i love her confidence and self respec... we need a lot more of that everywhere. Nobody's perfect
Emma Watson is a great role model. I know that a lot of kids in my grade started drinking when they were 13 or 14, and my older brother got smashed while babysitting me when he was only 14. And in Belgium, it's legal to drink in public when you're 12, as long as you have an adult with you, who has bought you the drink.
Drinking at 16 is nothing, since pretty much every other teenager on the PLANET is doing it anyways. It's not like she's driving when she's drunk or getting into all sorts of illegal situations like other celebrities. Emma Watson is under a lot of pressure, being who she is, always in the eye of the public. More than anyone she should be allowed a drink.
Aside from all that, the fact that Emma drinks makes her a better role model. If she didn't drink, she would seem inhuman, and no teenage girl would ever feel like she was good enough. The pictures that are posted here shows her as just another teenage girl. While she is still so obviously better than us, being a celebrity, we feel like we can relate more with her. And she sets a good example because she doesn't drink too much.
So she drinks - big deal! She's not laying in a gutter somewhere which is a relief. Emma is still a wonderful role model.
If it wasn't for Emma, I'd still be aiming to be a size 00-2 because all I've seen aside from Emma are super skinny girls getting whatever they want!
Can I ask why whoever wrote this article found is necessary to say that alcohol is bad for women? Surely if you believe (and I don't) that alcohol is bad, then it is bad for everyone? regardless of gender.
Yeah, excessive alcohol is bad for everyone, but this blog is written for women. Moreover the extra risk for women comes in the shape of breast cancer. And a drunk girl is less likely to insist on protection during sex; ending up preggers or getting an STI.
Moderate drinking in a secure environment with friends or family is great. A role model like Emma should not pose for photos with a drink in hand. Kids are more likely to experiment with alcohol at a young age after seeing their role models in such pics.
While I agree that we shouldn't be encouraging underage drinking, I think stating that drinking is bad for WOMEN is incorrectly implying that men can drink as much as they want. Although you qualified it with your comment that this blog is meant for women as well as listing breast cancer and unprotected sex. But there is also a higher risk of bowel cancer in men who drink alcohol.
On a side note an intoxicated woman who can apparently not insist on protection let alone GIVE CONSENT should not be blamed. Anyone who takes advantage of a woman in that situation is at fault and should be prosecuted.
Does it really matter. She is a role model, yes. I look upto her alot myself but so what she drinks alcohol, so does alot of other celebrities that are amazing people. She's only human and will drink and hang with mates and have a good time. You are all acting like she is a alcoholic, which she isn't. She doesn't get hugely drunk and make a idiot of herself like celebs like Katie price for example, so theres no need to complain. You people that are negative about her for drinking mildly, need to leave her alone. Get over it and move on.
